Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the person using it to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Regular forklifts could not move the cargo towards and away from the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is necessary.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to use uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It comes with a backrest which protects the loads from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is utilized for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform that is meant to raise employees is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a chain or strap is utilized to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the personnel from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
