Kinds of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These equipments can turn in an aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into account with various units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet areas, whereas some will utilize specific guidance systems like optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common models in compact retail spaces and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are commonly utilized in storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up units offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is really large and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and thus more effective while limiting exhaustion.
