Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an essential device within commercial businesses and industry ever since the year 1917. During its history the forklift has evolved through different kinds, from a simple tractor with an attached platform to a particular high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also evolved into specialized tires, with different kinds designed to meet specific functions.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is constructed of solid polyurethane or rubber and is best for indoor work on smooth surfaces. The tread of a cushion tire is bonded or pressed onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for different load capacities. Cushion tires are normally used within warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Foam or air is used to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They come in two kinds: radial or bias. Depending upon the application, they come with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are usually utilized outdoors on surfaces that are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride that pneumatic tires provide along with the puncture resistance that solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are a good alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Used on wheel loader forklifts are large rubber tires that can either be pneumatic, solid or foam. These kinds of tires are suitable for moving and loading bulk things into processing machines or onto trucks. Large flotation pneumatic tires are best for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly used at lumberyards, construction sites and auto recyclers.
