Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A type of machine which could carry loads that are roughly 30,000 pounds is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being sturdy and large, these industrial equipment still carry the possible risk of accident or crash. In order to be safe, be sure to have operators put on the right seat belt in the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are also on board. We all know that seat belts could save lives in the event of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The kinds of seat belts that can extend both over the lap and across the upper body are the three-point seat belts. These types of belts provide an extra safety degree by protecting your body. They are offered in both bucket-seat and bench-seat styles. The 3-point seat belts are available in either non-retractable or retractable kinds.
Most modern vehicles on the market provide retractable seat belts. Although non-retractable types increase safety, retractable types offer more comfort. It is really impossible for a non-retractable seat belt to extend accidentally.
Lap belts
The type of seat belt which only extends over the lower portion of the body is a two-point lap belt. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and then the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The kind of seat belt which forces a forklift operator to wear a seat belt is a circuit-closed seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached that sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is unsecured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band styles.
