The forklift is a material handling equipment utilized to lift and transport loads from one location to another. Each and every forklift component has a specific function. Various parts could be utilized to move the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The parts used to lower and lift the load is referred to as the forklift mast. There are various types of masts used for raising loads to various heights: simplex, duplex, triplex and quad.
Power Supply
There are four various ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is located inside the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Cab
Positioned within the center of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all situated inside the cab.
Frame
The frame of the truck carries all the biggest components of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are situated at the rear so as to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
