Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources which could power forklifts. They can run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for numerous uses. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
In order to prevent potentially serious injury, specific precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
